Fostering for us can make a lifelong difference to a Dachshund in just a few weeks.
At Middle East Dachshunds, we work tirelessly to rescue animals from difficult situations and find them loving, permanent homes. Sometimes, before that can happen, some of these animals need a safe, temporary place to stay- this is when our amazing foster families come in
WHY FOSTER?
When you open your home and heart to a foster Dachshund, you are giving them a second chance. You provide a safe and nurturing environment where they can de-stress and regain their confidence. Fostering is vital for helping Dachshunds in challenging situations.

What does fostering involve?
As a foster carer, you will take care of a Dachshund in your own home for a short period. This could be a few weeks or a few months. You’ll provide primary care, including feeding, exercise, and love. In some cases, you may also help with socialisation, training, or administering medications (we’ll provide all the guidance and supplies you need). The best part? You’ll see a needy Dachshund become a confident, happy companion ready for adoption.

Who Can Foster?
You don’t need to be an expert. Dog experience, especially with dachshunds, is highly valued since many of our foster dachshunds may have behavioural challenges.   
A secure garden and a willingness to help. Sadly, because Dachshunds can often display a high prey drive, we would not consider a home with cats or other small animals. We do not have the facilities to cat test.
 Fostering is a flexible way to volunteer — it’s a perfect option if you can’t commit to adopting right now but still want to make a huge impact.

We do require references, preferably from people who own dogs.
